In My (Red) Eyes
Quick contact lens update: Last Thursday I just couldn't do it. I couldn't touch my eye, let alone get a lens in. The lady was mean and I left empty-handed and defeated.
Today I went back for my second attempt and... I'm proud to say that I am now a contact wearer.
It was a bitch. There were tears. My eyes totally hate me. (See how red they are?)
But I can see. And that kinda rocks.
It will SO get easier with time. I have no other words of wisdom for you, but the easier with time thing is true. I can totally touch my eyeballs and just leave my finger there for hours now.

LOL at people touching their eyeballs for hours.
Patrick you're still hot. Just sayin'. :)

Just when I got the courage to get them the dreaded eye fungus rears it's head and scares me out of it.

Your eye still looks hot. A red eye like that reminds me of someone who's been up late, doing all sorts of naughty debauched things with me, and is really tired and just getting ready to drop off to sleep while I hold him.
OR, some str8 guy who's had too much pot, and is frisky and suddenly willing to experiment.
Either way, both situations are hot...but that's what your eye reminds me of! :)

Congrats! It's like riding a bike. Once you get the hang of it, it will become like second nature and you'll be able to pop in them in and out in the dark, drunk, hung over, and other exciting situations.

It gets so much easier with time. I can do it without a mirror now.

Congrats! I had a particularly patient optometrist help me out for my first time. It still took me an hour-and-a-half to get just one of them in the first time. Next morning, I did it in a half-hour, and in a week, it was only taking me five minutes. You'll do fine. And the irritation-thing lessens as you wear them more, you and your eyes will get used to the lenses.
Just don't forget to take them out at night... otherwise icky-nasty puss will ensue the following morning.

hehehe, it took me 2 visits as well to get the contacts in, the first time was a nice VERY cute young guy helping me out - poking my eyes getting a trying to get a lens in on top of stumbling and stuttering while ogling him - doesn't scream "date me" after the second try there was a nice lady who primarily just laughed at what I deemed my "Ninja Lashes" for being too long. But the contacts are super nice and helps lots. The worse part now is getting a fallen ninja in my eye.
