In The Mountains, Without Brokeback
« In The Mountains, Without Brokeback | Main | Classy TV & Movies »

Stuck in Vermont with one tiny, crappy, greedy "art house" theater (Merrill's very sad Roxy), with no clear sign of when it'll come to town (but apparently it will come, according to the poster in the Roxy's lobby), I don't really have a choice. I'm obviously not surprised, but still disappointed.
This week, I've read the orginal short story, watched the Logo special, and scanned the reviews. I've tried to resist the hype, but I'm totally jealous. I really want to see this flick.

I'm kinda jealous that LA/San Fran/NYC got Brokeback to play in their cities first and little ol' Houston, the fourth largest city thank you very much, has to wait until the 16th to see the movie. Hopefully the movie will live up to the hype and be a good adaptation of the story.

In the UK we don't get it until mid-January, so I win this contest. I really hope this movie will reach people, that Red-State folk will give it a chance and go and see it with an open mind. I find the United States the most fascinating contradiction: a country with some of the most enlightened and most ignorant responses to homosexuality. That this movie even got the green light is a sign of hope (though X-Men is gayer!)Greg, UK

I'm a lucky one. I saw it last night here in SF and was so compelled to write a review for a lot of my friends in other cities. Finally, I decided to create a blog tonight. Check out my blog for a review.
